We were selected among 12 most promising startups in Serbia to join Startup Shower academy!

In order to support the development of entrepreneurial culture and innovation in business, as well as the development of the individual, secondary and society, the Business Intelligence Institute has been implementing the Start up Shower project for the third year in a row. The project provides non-refundable financial support in the gross amount of 1,000,000.00 dinars, participation in the Startup Shower Academy, but also support through business consulting by the most successful experts in Serbia. After a detailed analysis of the received applications, 12 projects were selected for which the Startup Shower Academy was organized last week from Thursday to Saturday. Among the most influential researchers in the world are 14 scientists from the University of Novi Sad, according to the latest so-called Stanford list. Among them are four professors from the Faculty of Science, three professors from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, three professors from the Faculty of Medicine and one professor each from the Faculty of Technology, the Faculty of Philosophy, the Faculty of Pedagogy and the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education. DukeSim is a GPU-based CT simulator that generates CT projection images of a given voxelized computational phantom. Scientists at Vinaver Medical use photon-counting CT scanner models to produce spectral datasets that are fed to AI algorithms.

Platforma AI recognizes the potential of Vinaver Medical

With the aim of developing and applying artificial intelligence technology in public administration, research within the academic community and its institutions and the entire industry of the Republic of Serbia, as well as helping startup companies in developing their products, the Government of the Republic of Serbia provided the National Platform for Artificial Intelligence (AI Platform). The development of the National Platform is defined by the goals and measures of the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in the Republic of Serbia for the period 2020-2025.

Supervised AI - XCAT anthropomorphic phantoms

Scientists at Vinaver Medical use the XCAT program developed at the Center for Virtual Imaging Trials to produce patient-diverse anatomy for AI training.

XCAT produces highly detailed male and female anatomies for subjects that are 50th percentile in terms of height/weight and organ volumes. It contains thousands of defined structures to the tiniest body vessels. It efficiently emulates breathing motion, cardiac cycles, and organ movements.

Computed tomography (CT), due to its diverse applicability and widespread availability, has become one of the largest sources of medical radiation exposure in the United States. This increased exposure, combined with our improved understanding of the carcinogenic effects of ionizing radiation, has necessitated the evaluation and optimization of CT protocols and technologies in a task-specific manner towards the goal of improving diagnostic accuracy while minimizing the radiation burden on the patient.

Virtual imaging trials (VITs), by means of realistic and validated simulations, offer an effective avenue to assess and optimize the performance of imaging protocols and technologies, including CT. By enabling comparisons with known ground truth, VITs provide an objective methodology to tune the performance of imaging methods to achieve maximal clinical performance, thus ensuring the achievement of quality and safety standards required for patient-centered care.

Vinaver Medical wins SmartStart non-equity grant from Innovation Center

The goal of the Smart Start program is to support highly promising teams in their efforts to validate their business ideas and demonstrate the future usefulness of their technology through the development of a first prototype or a minimum viable product (MVP).

The program Awardees receive financial and mentorship support that helps them execute the first phase of market research, engage in product development, establish a business model and begin preparation for the next phase of fundraising. Furthermore, where applicable, the Innovation Fund organizes a series of specifically targeted workshops that help Awardees to better organize their operations and start-on their startups on the right foot.
